Montana 1 Hour Legislative Updates

As part of their continuing education requirements, resident producers in Montana must successfully complete one credit hour of education on legislative changes, including statute and rule updates. This course is specifically written for that purpose and will satisfy Montana’s requirements for Montana insurance producers. The course begins with discussions on property and casualty insurance, including claims practices by insurers on automobile and personal residential insurance losses. 

The material continues with a look at new legislation surrounding real estate licensees and the requirement to secure professional liability coverage for their real estate activities. Workers’ compensation coverage is next, and the course discusses prosthetic devices and prostheses coverage for work-related injuries. Our P&C discussion continues with information detailing the laws and rules regarding self-storage facilities, their operators and sales personnel. The course then dives into specific health insurance laws and rules, most notably the establishment of Health Care Ministries and how Direct Patient Care Agreements are to be treated. The course concludes with a deep look at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the Annuity Suitability Model Act. Montana has adopted the model act in its entirety and explores the mandates required by law.
