In this 5-hour course, we'll talk about the basic principles and concepts that underlie Property & Casualty insurance. This includes an understanding of the different types of insurers, and risk and risk management techniques. We'll also talk about producer responsibilities and agency, before we move on to examining contracts and completion of applications.
In our class on flood insurance and the NFIP, we'll learn about the history of flood insurance, and recent changes. We'll talk about the options that are available to homeowners, and some important terms that pertain to flood insurance. Then we'll do some NFIP training, and cover how to write a flood policy.
The final class in this course package focuses on the problem of toxic mold. We'll discuss what types of mold you may encounter, and the conditions that encourage mold growth. You'll learn about the harmful effects of mold on one's health, and we'll talk about the history of toxic mold claims in court, and the impact on insurers.
