This 24-hour course will provide the Washington Life and Disability Insurance licensee with current and up-to-date information in order to successfully complete their continuing education requirements. The course provides information and material on topics and concerns that are commonly seen in today’s insurance world, including important Washington and federal laws and rules surrounding life and disability insurance, a modern take on life insurance policies and their uses, important provisions and riders that producers can use to tailor policies to an insured, and a thorough discussion of annuities.
Continuing, the course covers life and disability tax concerns, medical plans and group health discussions, an in-depth lesson on senior citizens and special needs individuals, and a fresh look at disability insurance taxation. Finally, the course finishes with a complete look at ethics and the insurance professional.
This updated course includes many illustrations, examples, and quizzes associated with the material, and provides a well-rounded approach to retention.
We start with material on insurance regulation in the state, and then follow this lesson with a discussion on specific federal regulations. Then the course begins to discuss life insurance specifically with an updated look at life insurance policies and their uses, including term, permanent, flexible and indexed policies.The course continues with information on life insurance provisions, options and riders seen in policies, and continues with in-depth material on annuities. The life insurance course series concludes with a discussion of life insurance taxation and state laws and rules related to life insurance.
Disability and accident insurance discussions are next in the course, and we will start with the basics of accident and health. Individual policy provisions are next and the course continues with a consideration and discussion of medical plans. Up next in the course is group health insurance and is then followed with a deep look at insurance for senior citizens, specialized, and qualified individuals.
The health insurance section concludes with information on federal health insurance taxation and the laws and rules associated with accident and health insurance in the state. The course finishes with a complete discussion of professional ethics for insurance licensees, with a concentration on ethical choices and options.
Each lesson will include a practice examination with complete explanations and details to help the student retain information. There is a 125 question final examination that must be successfully completed in order to receive credit for the course.
